This was a full on trip, visiting six clients in eight days to upgrade and set up each of their Linn Sondek LP12 turntables. As if this wasn't enough, once Peter had successfully completed all his work, there was an interesting experience when, on the return flight, a lightning strike hit the plane that necessitated a return to Singapore airport and a delay until another flight home could be arranged. Happily this second flight went without a hitch. Many visitors just couldn't believe the big sound that these speakers are capable of but with a detailed, seamless integration from top to bottom and a sense of ease that just draws you into a magical musical experience. A speaker of this quality deserves to be given the best support and in this instance a perfect partner has been found in the Track Audio 600 stands, which allow the Super 10s to give of their best without resorting to the industrial look one so often sees. The work involved the fitting of various components to the LP12s including Keels, Tiger Paw Khans, Ekos SE and Aro tonearms and assorted cartridges. There was also a rebuild of a pair of Linn Isobariks with replacement drivers along with general system set-ups. Despite this hectic schedule he managed to fit in some sightseeing as well as visiting some of the amazing record shops where the vinyl racks seem to go on forever - magic!

We are pleased to announce that the Naim Audio "Future Of Hi-Fi" Roadshow will be at Cymbiosis on Thursday April 12th 2012, when we will be demonstrating the recently announced Naim NDS network music player.
The NDS takes its place above the award winning ND5 XS and NDX as the reference Naim network player. It is a revolutionary step forward for high-end audio. All three of the above mentioned network players will be on demonstration, along with their optional power supply upgrades. The system we will be using for the players will consist of the NAC252 preamplifier, Supercap power supply, NAP300 power amplifier and the Ovator S-400 Loudspeakers. In order to explain digital streaming and give a structured demonstration of the Naim network players, we will hold three separate sessions during the day. These will be at 12.00pm, 2.15pm and 4.30pm. Two members of Naim Audio staff will be on hand to answer all your questions. The Khan is a replacement top plate, which is a straight replacement for the original stainless steel sheet. Machined from a solid alloy billet it is dramatically stiffer than the original part, whilst weighing a similar amount. Not only does this provide an accurate and stable platform from which to suspend the sub chassis but it also provides a significant reduction in the amount of energy from the motor reaching the sub chassis and main bearing. This in turn improves music retrieval. The Khan has been creating quite stir amongst LP12 afficianados and Peter has already fitted a number of them to customer's decks as well as his own personal deck, a real endorsement! Power supplies have always been a significant part of the Naim product catalogue. Almost from the beginning of the brand it was recognised that adding a better power supply could increase the performance of a Naim preamplifier. This philosophy has been extended over time to include CD players, DACs and now network players. The ND5 XS follows on from the introduction last year of the NDX and has been engineered to integrate into the Naim range at the same performance level as Naim's other XS Series components. The ND5 XS is performance-upgradeable, currently with the addition of an external XPS or 555 PS power supply and / or Naim DAC. Peter was visiting two of our customers, in New York and Chicago, who had each purchased a pair of the new Kudos Titan Loudspeakers. As well as installing the speakers, Peter also set up on of their Linn LP12s as well as completely rebuilding a Naim 500 system. Due to the power outage, the system in New York was set up via the customers own back-up generator. Thankfully when the power was restored, and to the customers delight, the system was allowed to fully reveal the fantastic results of all the careful attention given to the system setup. We've included below, a few photos from the visit. Fortunately the damaged property shown was not one belonging to either of our customers!

With hardly any time to re-acclimatise to being back in the UK after his recent trip to the United States and Canada, Peter has jetted off again, this time to Singapore!
If something is good, it is worth waiting for! And so it is with the Kudos Super 10 Loudspeaker, which made it's debut at the National Audio Show at Whittlebury last year, where it proved to be one of the major attractions drawing much praise for a performance that belied it's compact size.
Peter has recently returned from another trip, which took him this time to both Canada and the United States. With his Linn LP12 services very much in demand, he managed to visit seven customers in all, taking in Chicago, Calgary, San Francisco, Houston and New York. Fortunately this time, he didn't encounter any hurricanes!

Naim has announced the addition of a new multi-rail, slimline power supply in its XS Series: the XP5 XS. The XP5 XS, which comes complete with Naim's Burndy interconnect, is the ideal partner for extracting even greater performance from the ND5 XS network player and Naim DAC. This versatile product is also compatible with the NDX network player, CDX2 (models with and without S/PDIF), CDX, CDS2 and CDS3 CD players as well as the HDX hard disk player / server.

At exactly the same time as Hurricane Irene arrived in New York, so did Peter! Apparently they have recovered from Irene but we're not sure if they've recovered from Peter!!!
