Well, our beloved LP12 has evolved in many and various ways over the past 40 plus years. Over this time, many of us have heard the sonic improvements that have resulted from improvements to the main bearing, power supplies, sub-chassis, arms, cartridges, plinths and baseboards etc as Linn continue with their policy of continuous development and improvement.

Heathrow is not the easiest of places to get to on a Friday evening as anyone who’s tried it will know. Last Friday (the 1st November) was not good, with a section of the M25 near the M1 junction closed due to an accident, so I made my way from Leicester west on the M69 and then down the M40 past Oxford and High Wycombe.

This year, Linn products based in Glasgow, Scotland celebrate their 40th anniversary, and with this comes a special edition of one of the most iconic turntables ever created…the Linn LP12.

To celebrate their 40th birthday, Linn have teamed up with Scottish whiskey manufacturer Highland Park to create 40 special edition Highland Park LP12’s created using 40 year old whiskey casks.
